Hints and Tips plus Recipes for a Fun and Healthy Festive Season!

 

We all  need to let go, and relax a little over Christmas, so I include just a few suggestions of ways you can continue to enjoy life, and still be mindful of sensible drinking and healthy eating!

Alcohol- Sadly, too much booze, quickly leads to over working the liver, plus general feelings of pretty awful lethargy! It may pay you to try these simple changes:

 If you drink spirits, double the amount of mixer and ice, you normally add and in so doing, make one drink last longer!

 Wine drinkers: A better option than a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc has to be a white wine spritzer.  A small glass of dry white served in a tumbler, with ice and a slice, topped up with plenty of tonic or soda water.

FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD

Aim to Make More of Vegetables.

 Natural providers of valuable fibre, vitamins, and minerals, plus ante-oxidants, vegetables fill you up too.

 Did you know that Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Kale and Spinach all help the livers functions, which include, to detoxify alcohol and digest fats? Give me one good reason not to eat more veg?

Say Bye- Bye to the Fry!  Steaming, boiling, pot roasting or grilling are natural ways to reduce fat intake, so make use of these methods, for healthy meals.

Mindfulness

Wrap up well, grab the dog, and or a friend and get outside to walk briskly for at least 30 minutes, in your natural surroundings.  A great way to bring harmony and peace into your hectic, festive life!
